What should I know about wood?
Wood is a natural product with many unique characteristics. Variations in grain pattern, color, and character markings are the elements that make up the beauty of wood. Because wood varies greatly, one species may be more suitable for either a light, clear, or dark finish. We will be glad to assist you in selecting the wood that is the most appropiate for your particular application and taste.
Cherry.... For the look of elegance and luxury, cherry cabinets are unmatched. Known for it's fine grain patterns, cherry finishes exceptionally well.
Maple.... The clean simplicity of maple makes it an ideal choice for either traditional or contemporary decor. An exceptional hardwood, maple is characterized by it's white or creamy color.
Oak.... This extremely popular hardwood features a pleasing blend of strength and beauty. The proper stain results in an eye pleasing and colorful cabinet.
What are some of the wood species I could choose from?
We welcome any selection depending on availability and the specific application. However, some of the hardwood and softwood lumbers we frequently use are: Cherry, Maple, Oak, Knotty Pine, Birch, Poplar, Alder and Cypress.
What is the typical lead time for a project?
The size, complexity of the project and the amount of work we are currently doing all have an effect on lead times. However, moderately sized entertainment centers typically require an 8 to 10 week lead time and mid-sized kitchens usually require 10 to 12 weeks. We will work closely with you, other contractors, or interior designers to avoid delays or bottlenecks which could hender the completion of your project.
